Math

The CWA mathematics program provides a balanced approach to the two vital components of math education, skill development and mathematical reasoning. Our strong academic program develops critical thinking, the discovery and application Geometryof mathematical ideas, and an understanding of the place that mathematics and technology play in contemporary society. Each CWA graduate will have completed a minimum course work covering two years of Algebra and one year of Geometry in addition to a science or math class during their senior year. Over 90% of our students take four years of math in high school with approximately 50% taking an AP math course. The typical sequence after Algebra II is Pre-Calculus followed by AP Calculus. We also offer a Statistics and an AP Statistics course. For a visual overview of our courses, we have provided a flowchart depicting the sequence of courses. For a more detailed description of the individual courses as well as the prerequisites, you can visit the math section of the course catalog.
